Sheffield Civic Trust and Sheffield Heritage Open Days
Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,000 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. It’s your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – and it’s all FREE
Between 13 - 22 September 2019, you’ll be able to experience 10 days of local history, architecture, culture: the stories of Sheffield - and all FREE of charge. All over the country buildings and heritage sites, sometimes never normally open to the public, will be opening up, often thanks entirely to the hard work and dedication of volunteers. Heritage Open Days offer you the chance to experience walks, talks, exhibitions and guided tours, always delivered with plenty of local knowledge and enthusiasm.
Sheffield Civic Trust is proud to be the local co-coordinator of this important annual event and we welcome you to our 2019 programme in Sheffield. As you will see, many people, including volunteers and community groups, will invite you to meet them and share their knowledge and passion about our heritage. This website will keep you updated on the events and venues participating in the Sheffield 2019 Heritage Open Days. You can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
