Sheffield Civic Trust and Sheffield Heritage Open Days

Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,000 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. It’s your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – and it’s all FREE.

We are delighted that despite current Covid-19 restrictions the festival is going ahead this year between 11 - 20 September 2020. Sheffield's Heritage Open Days events this year include some great in-person events as well as a brand new online offer - and as always, access to all HODs events is FREE!

There's something for everyone so download our brochure here  and check out for more details and for booking. As always, access to all Heritage Open Days events is FREE but numbers may be limited and prebooking will be essential for most in-person events.

Sheffield Civic Trust is proud to be the local co-ordinator of this important annual event and we welcome you to our 2020 programme in Sheffield. As you will see, many people, including volunteers and community groups, will invite you to meet them and share their knowledge and passion about our heritage. This website will keep you updated on the events and venues participating in the Sheffield 2020 Heritage Open Days. You can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
